Ferguson unconcerned by injuries Sir Alex Ferguson insists he is not worried by Manchester United's lengthy injury list ahead of the Champions League firs...

records are meaningless la... meant to be broken.

scholes was ordinary this match.... giggs did flick a few crosses in..

iceFatboy SG

Given how the defence played, (I was expecting Fletcher as the right back, Brown and Heinze and JoShea as the left), I have no complains.

They played their hearts out, and did what they can.

For Kaka's 2nd goal, Evra over-committed, but hey, he only played with Heinze on how many occassions? So I give him the benefit of doubts.

The one major factor of his play was to join in attack with Ronaldo, forcing Milan to have at least 3 players on the backfoot.

I think the key was to neutralize each other. if Milan choose to stop Ronaldo, then with Evra, Milan would need to sacrifice something in return.

I just wish out of those injured, someone can come back cause Evra is out next leg. Rio or GVN would be ideal.

iceFatboy SG

it was as if, he is afraid of getting another yellow. However, he was more aggressive in the 2nd half.

Ok, we got a result, although not what everyone wanted, a 2 goal conceded in the process, but at least we got a cushion. at least with a makeshift defence like ours, i am impressed, Heinze was on fire, man this guys is really a no nonsense defender, if he didn't played football, i reckon he can be a wrestler.. Laughing

At least we now can look forward to our premiership fixture, and hopefully have a couple of players back in Milan fixture 'crosses finger'

Kaka was real class i have to say, but died down i nthe second half when Milan was reduced more to defence with Kattuso and Maldini out.

Oh yea, no English Team ever won in Silsa, thats true... but hey?!! who said we needed to win to get through to the finals? Razz Mr. Green

I'll be punting for a draw in San Siro. But then its a really tough match coz just 48hours later got a match to Man City away. Wonder if SAF will think which match more impt.

Grrr... Stupid Man city refuse to postpone match. Next time they relegation threatened we ought to do them no favours as well.

Conceding 2 away goals is pretty bad. If they win 1-0, 2-1 in San Siro then Man Utd out. Hopefully Man Utd can blitz and score early against Milan over there then it will be much easier.

Defence is really troubling Man Utd. When Kaka shoot the 2nd goal, the camera turn and show the Man Utd bench with Vidic, Silvestre, Rio, G.Neville all sitting there. Can see their face they really wish to be on the field. Quite Jialat.

Anyway, Kaka is 1st yellow card so next match he still around I think. Hope someone prove me wrong.

iceFatboy SG

yep, matches are coming thick and fast, and any long term injuries are a no-no.

However, if we got a chance to go into the Finals, maybe, there would be a distraction. I think key would boil down to SAF cause Milan would be charging in San Siro.

As for City, why worried. They are trying hard to disrupt. No love lost.
It will be such a bitter pill for them once we do the double over them.

I have to say, i must be pleased with the result. Cos with the kind of defence united have got... Personally, i didn't think kaka was really that great a player, it seems to me that united's weakness in the defence department made him look much better than he really was last night.

I belief had united got Ferdinand, Vidic and Neville in there last night... Their first goal could have been avoided not to even mention their second... Watching AC's second goal, i am afraid their next 3 away EPL matches against Everton, Man City and Chelsea will post a serious problem to united. The defence is so weak currently i don't see them able to keep a clean sheet in any match... United badly need Ferdinand and Neville back asap... I notice most of their goals concede seem to come from the right-back side...

The way its going... the team have too many injuries, current fit players will have to play a game every 3, 4 days and won't be allow to rest... Can they hold out? I am not too sure, Milan can rest their 9 players over last weekend and they can do so again this weekend but can united? Neutral

hisoka SG

MU having bad defensive problems. attackign and mid field are good and i would even say having sdepth in str. but the def.... all the regulars out Confused

iceFatboy SG

well, we can always fall back on famous SAF's policy, "we will score more than the opp can".

trendz SG

and it is well-known that United can score. How many matches have they gone by without scoring a single goal; even if it ended in a loss?

Pure attacking football.

Fergie knows the defence is in shambles (even Heinze was in the first half but came out on fire in the second).

Gattuso was the key in midfield, hurrying and scurrying United players to lose possession, then cleaning up any loose balls and spreading play to the creative Pirlo and dangerous Kaka; and after he went off, Scholes, Carrick and Fletcher gained control of the midfield.

Master -_- SG

ok some serious post match review...

Gilardino was really put of place last night.. can only grab a couple of shots... O shea did great with the legendary seedorf.. it was seedorf that supplied Kaka most of the opportunities.. there's a rumour that goes that Seedorf has customized boots that somehow reacts with the pitch at San Siro...dunno true or not but sounds credible Laughing Wes brown had a tough match last night being the "only" veteran" central defender amongst the back 4...Evra had too much going on in attacking Neutral He only tire himself if he keeps going on like this in San Siro...but this through ins and one-twos are nice though... Fletcher is a workhorse.. He improved helluva lot this season and can see that he matured like a true Man Utd player...Carrick was quiet..he gave away too many balls and can see the fatigue liao..Giggs should be the MOTM imo...he attacked and defended well too..Scholes seems like he wants to make it up for his past demeanours..he stole quite alot of possession for AC and made more direct passes than through balls like he always do..Rooney and ronaldo are like bread and butter...unstoppable lah those two..and it's quite funny when the presenters of the preview show said that when Paolo maldini made his debut.. Rooney is still in his mother's tummy and Ronaldo was only 7 months old Laughing but seriously, Nesta and Paolo really are jaded and they look like they are gonna collapse very soon Neutral

We’ll need Inzaghi’s experience in the next leg, and Gattuso to be back. Ambrosini on his own isn’t enough.

Thanks for the vid. Its great!~

Heinze shld be MOM. He practically held the defence together. Hope he still gets a regular place when all the injured defenders come back. Can rotate them around... Smile

Thumbs up to Fletcher too...

Btw, I thought we only need a draw to win a place to the Finals? I know away goals count more, but if we can draw Milan, then we will win on goals aggregate right? What happens if it's a 0-0?

Pitot SG

What a match eh?~

Laughing

Milan Lao Hong. Kaka, Seedorf all lao hong.

They got their heart and Legs ripped out of them in th eform of maldini and gatusso.

Kudos to the attacking staff for working overtime every match in order to cover the back men arses.

Fletcher stepped up to the plate.

Evra got suspended wow. how nice. Laughing

imprezaWRXSTi22B SG

yes a draw is sufficient. be it 0-0 or 9-9. Mr. Green

if its a 0-1 loss we are out. 1-2 too. 2-3 and think its penalties. 3-4, we are through!

Pitot SG
